Вопрос к мамам девочек

Я хотела бы научить Бегемотия вязать на спицах и крючком.
У нас в школе будет кружок вязания, и я хочу туда вместе с ней ходить.
Вопрос вот такой: есть ли у кого опыт обучения этом делу в столь нежном возрасте (5.5 лет)?
С чего лучше начинать, со спиц или с крючка?
Нет ли каких книг, сайтов или чего-нибудь на тему "Дети вяжут сами"?

В общем, любые советы приму с благодарностью.

Kindergarten-Grade 6-Appealing, full-color photographs and a dynamic layout will draw readers to this book, but the careful crafting of instructions will make them successful knitters. Beautiful photos show a group of young people having fun making and wearing attractive hats, socks, and sweaters. Not only are projects and skills arranged in an orderly progression of difficulty, but the directions also begin explicitly and gradually move toward the standard abbreviations used in commercial patterns (e.g., "knit 1" is written out instead of abbreviated as "k1"). Additional material sets this title above the few others available on the topic. There's good information on proper blocking and laundering of finished garments, dyeing wood with Kool-Aid, making wooden needles, felting wool, sewing knitting bags, the multicultural aspects of knitting, and (most importantly) finding other knitters to help with the inevitable confusions of acquiring a new skill. By following the clear directions, 10 year olds with a mechanical bent can learn the basics unaided. With some help from an experienced knitter, kids as young as five could have a rewarding new hobby. Only a small flaw mars this exemplary workAthere is a reversed diagram, but an errata sheet correcting this error is available. A terrific resource.

Какая ты добросовестная. Я рукоделию учу только по собственной просьбе детей, и то сперва подумаю: учить-неучить. Зоя неделю назад загорелась желанием вязать на спицах и вяжет целыми днями. Я ей только иногда помогаю. Мальчишки сразу тоже захотели, но увы, спиц больше нет.

"Какая ты добросовестная." - Ну, у происходящего совсем другие причины, ничего общего с моей добросовестностью. Я много работаю, ребенка почти не вижу. Вернее, когда я его вижу в 8-9 часов вечера, мне уже все равно. Поэтому ведутся поиски совсместного времяпрепровождения. Особенно, с учётом того, что я кучу времени провожу в школе. Ищу возможность ее с собой брать. Spanish Club, knitting club.
А Зоя когда научилась? Вот прямо сейчас? Дай-ка соображу сколько ей лет. Восемь? А моей пять с половиной. Ну, это уже не так и далеко. Попробуем. А что она вяжет? Шарфики?

Зоя попросила научить ее вязать неделю назад, у нее тогда как раз каникулы начались. Ей только что исполнилось 8. До этого она только вышивала, куклам шила, и все это требовало много моего участия. Илья и Давид тоже пытались вышивать. Илья даже закончил что-то.
А ты сможешь совместно проводить с ней время в клубе? Откуда у тебя время на это возьмется?

"А ты сможешь совместно проводить с ней время в клубе? Откуда у тебя время на это возьмется?" Ну, э-э-э, вопрос не в бровь, а в глаз. Как ты себе представляешь клуб? Сидят пять девочек-школьниц и вяжут. Я даже не организатор его, а участник. Организатор - одна хорошая тётенька из наших менеджеров, которая этот клуб объявила в октябре, и никак не может его начать (всё Бог часу не даёт). Сегодня первое заседание, и я на него опять не попадаю, потому что оно пересекается у меня с tutoring session для отстающих. Но поскольку я еще не купила спицы, шерсть и книжку (все куплю на этой неделе), то наверное и ничего, что мы сегодня не пойдем. На следующей неделе, значит.
