Мы дома, у нас всё есть, свет, интернет, горячая вода. Еда вся кончилась, но позже сегодня пойдем в магазин. Но в Тарритауне ещё у 2300 жителей нет света, шестой день.

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – More than 2,300 Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow customers remained without power Sunday morning as thousands of out-of-state crews moved into Westchester to pitch in with outage restoration.

An estimated 1,230 out of 5,217 customers in Tarrytown and 1,151 out of 3,515 customers in Sleepy Hollow were without power at 7 a.m. Saturday, according to Con Edison. The utility reported approximately 88,060 of its 348,198 Westchester customers out of service as of Sunday morning.

Nearly 2,000 out-of-town crews are being deployed in New York City and Westchester County from various staging areas. An additional 400 crews were scheduled to arrive in Con Edison territory by Sunday. In Westchester, Mutual Aid Base Camps and staging areas have been established at Rye Playland in Rye and in FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights.

By Monday morning, Con Edison hopes to bring electricity to all schools and to all polling places for Tuesday. Those restorations are nearing 100 percent for accessible buildings, according to a release.

Electricity was restored to 700,000 customers, or approximately 70 percent of all those who lost power since the hurricane slammed through New York last Monday. Nearly 950,000 Con Edison customers were affected by the storm, securing Hurricane Sandy’s place in history as the worst natural disaster to strike Con Edison’s customers.

Customers can report downed power lines, outages, and check service restoration status by computer or mobile device at www.conEd.com. They also can call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). Customers who report outages will be called by Con Edison with their estimated restoration times as they become available, according to the release.

Hurricane Sandy: How You Can Help People
ELMSFORD, N.Y. - The Food Bank for Westchester is asking for donations of food and money to help keep its emergency efforts going in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Here’s how to help and how to get help if you need it:

To donate food: Drop off food at the food bank’s warehouse, 200 Clearbrook Road, Elmsford any time between 8 and 5 weekdays. Items needed include tuna, bread, cold cuts, bananas, oranges, apples, shelf-stable milk, cereal, granola bars, peanut butter (plastic containers only, please), juice boxes, crackers, meal-in-a-can, pop-top soups, applesauce or mixed fruit cup. The food bank also needs personal hygiene products.

To donate money: You can do so online at the food bank’s website, or mail a check payable to the Food Bank for Westchester, 200 Clearbrook Road., Elmsford, NY 10523. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can acquire $4 worth of food.

Спасибо большое за Ваше предложение.
Но зачем же это переправлять в Тарритаун? Нью-Йорк Сити пострадал гораздо больше от урагана. У нас например, практически не было затопления. Церковь на 42 пусть даст объявление в Нью-Йорк Таймс, к вам придут толпы голодных и холодных. И фургончик не понадобится, они сами всё разберут.
Здесь жители своими силами могут собрать одеяла, одежду и еду.
Вот чего мы не можем, так это электричество чинить. Вот тут у нас надежда на помощь.
