You will notice a change in earnings on your January 2, 2013 paycheck. This is due to the Employee Social Security rate changing back to 6.2% from 4.2%. The rate was cut for 2011 & 2012. This change is not related to the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (ATRA) legislation waiting to be signed by President Obama. Once the legislation is signed the 2013 Federal Tax Tables will be implemented and there will be several changes to the tax laws affecting payroll and employment taxes. Once the legislation is signed we will summarize the changes and issue another broadcast.
